COVID-19: Circus Artists & Their Families Don’t Have Enough To Survive During The Lockdown
Rambo Circus was established by Mr. P.T. Dilip on 26 January, 1991. Earlier Mr. P. T. Dilip owned Erina Circus in 1989, then the Great Oriental Circus and Victoria Circus. After combining three circuses he created one big Rambo Circus. It tours all over India & abroad too. From the very beginning, Rambo Circus has always applied innovative ideas and has shown how a circus can keep pace with the ever-changing world of entertainment.
The Rambo Circus is one big family that lives together, works together, and gets through tough times together. The once-great industry has been dying a slow death in the past decade. The circus has been closed since 13 March 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak in India. Our artists and support staff have been out of work ever since and it has become almost impossible for them to feed themselves and their families. The artists have dedicated their lives to the circus and for most of them, this is the only work they know.
The closure of the circus due to the coronavirus pandemic has put forth difficult questions to us organizers:
- Due to lack of funds, how can we feed and support the artists, supporting staff & their families during the lockdown?
- Will the artists and their families survive lockdown & its aftermath financially?
We need your support, to join our family in the hour of need.
With the money raised we will:
- Create comprehensive kits of essentials – dry ration, water, and personal care for the artists to help them through 3 months.
- Address health-related issues, nurse injuries & basic sanitization to protect them from COVID-19
Please help us in these trying times so that the artists and the support staff can feed themselves and their families. Help our Circus Family survive by donating generously.
